Sharing resources

Donated hundreds of books

"Load2Learn obtains many of its resources from Services such as ours, nationwide. We recently supported Load2Learn by donating hundreds of adapted books, mostly titles from primary reading schemes such as Oxford Reading Tree and Rigby Stars, in Word format. These will gradually be processed by Load2Learn and will then be readily available to all members. We are delighted that this service is freely available, and its value can only increase as the library of materials in accessible format grows." Phil Carrington, Resource Technician, Staffordshire Vision Impairment Service

Time saving

"Our service has made good use of Load2Learn since the beginning of 2013. We now have 20 registered users and have downloaded nearly a hundred items. By reducing the amount of preparation required in this way our Communication Support Workers' time is freed up to support learners in the classroom setting, as opposed to spending long periods at the computer. Load2Learn deal with the reporting requirements of the Copyright Act - another time saver." Phil Carrington, Resource Technician, Staffordshire Vision Impairment Service

Training and guidance

Saves time

"Thank you for the quick guide to modifying structured Word documents. This should save me even more time than before." Angela Barker, Visually Impaired Team, Leeds

Expertise and understanding

"Daily I sing your praises more! Thank you for this superb website. There is real expertise and understanding of the issues for print disabled youngsters. The quality of training materials is first class and constantly being updated. Please continue with this wonderful contribution to children's education." Sarah Cross, Teacher for Children with a Visual Impairment, Leeds

Excellent training

"The best things about the training provided by Load2Learn is access to the free online course (Inclusive Technologies for Reading), excellent training videos and having opportunities to develop my own IT skills and then use them in an educational context, such as using Twitter, making screen casts, writing blogs, attending webinars, etc. It is great to be able to share information with other professionals taking part in the course from all over the country. The training covers providing support for all print-disabled learners so there is a wide range information, including exploring free and low cost solutions. Definitely the best IT course that I’ve attended." Sue Rogers, Teacher, Bristol Sensory Support Service

"The training and guidance section is perfect for bite-size sessions for LSA's." Jane Lovering, QTVI, Berkshire Sensory Consortium Service

Benefits the learners

"I am regularly asked to source modified books for VI children whom our service supports. Doing so takes me much less time using Load2Learn, than when I had to approach the publishers myself. Load2Learn also benefits the learners as they are now given a lot more of the work they need in PDF format and it usually gets to them when needed in the class. Thanks to all at Load2Learn." Angela Bale, Sensory Inclusion Team (VI), Telford

Grateful and delighted

"Thank you for the Pearson PDF for BTEC Level 2 First Applied Science. I have looked at it and shown it to the Science Department. We are all very grateful and delighted. We shall look forward to using the file with our student. Thank you so much for all your efforts. Your help is much appreciated." LSA, The Bishop of Llandfaff High School

Braille version

"Thank you for the Pearson PDF. It's fantastic and will enable me to start working on formatting the braille version, so I have the book ready for the student at the beginning of the school year." Ethel Jondot, LSA, Watford Grammar School for Boys

Saved me hours

"You have just made my day! I have downloaded an AS Biology book for one our visually impaired students starting Further Education in September. That has saved me hours! Thank you." Sylvia Derry, Stockport Sensory Support Service

Involving publishers

"Started off slowly, but is now building into a must have resource for me. Just finding the odd book that I need has already saved me a large amount of time, and I am impressed by the way resources are building daily. I particularly like the way you are involving publishers, and I only hope they all buy into this way of providing resources. For the more involved books, all I need to do is provide the PDF and the student can access this at any magnification they like, so saving time and paper." Phil Nabozny, Braille and Visual Resources Technician, Service for Children with Sensory Impairment, Kirklees

Easy to download

"Thank you very much for providing the Nelson Thornes PDF for the VI student that we support. The download procedure was so easy and I only requested the book yesterday. This is great news for the student." Angela Bale, Sensory Inclusion Service (VI), Telford

"I'm very pleased with the book request service. If it's not already on Load2Learn, request it and they'll do their best to get a version up as quickly as possible." Tanya Branowsky, King Edward VI Grammar School, Louth

"We are finding Load2Learn enormously useful. It saves us hours of often useless work trawling the net, contacting publishers ,etc." Jane Lovering, QTVI, Berkshire Sensory Consortium Service
